2015 Festival brochure, website and #perthfest app

Established in 1953, Perth International Arts Festival (PIAF) has been bringing world-class experiences to our community across multiple art genres for 63 years. Each year, the Festival attracts more than 700,000 patrons to events in Perth and the Great Southern region. The Festival, held from November to April, offers some of the world’s best theatre, music, film, visual arts, street arts, literature and free community events.

The Festival season brochure and website have always reflected the quality of its artists. With the 2015 season, we wanted to give Festival patrons an innovative way to engage and interact with their brochure. We created the #perthfest iPhone app, which integrated the traditional brochure with a digital platform. The #perthfest app used image recognition technology to identify scannable pages in the brochure and show hidden videos. This was the first ever Perth International Arts Festival program integrated across web, mobile and print formats.
