Water Corporation and The Brand Agency win an Effie

The Brand Agency and Water Corporation won a bronze award last night for their ‘Drop 2’ campaign in the Government category at the 2016 Effie Awards, held in Sydney.

After a dry winter and the hottest Spring on record in 2015, Perth’s water use was on the rise and customer behaviour had to change to bring it back to where it should have been for that time of year.

To fit into customers’ busy lifestyles, the campaign focused on completing one simple action – dropping two minutes of sprinkler run times to save water: Whatever you do, just drop 2. The campaign centred around showcasing simple ways to save water in the garden and around the home.

Despite unpredictable and record-breaking weather conditions and a spike in water use, the campaign was hugely effective in influencing people’s propensity to take action to save water and by this one simple action billions of litres of water was saved.

Karen Willis, Manager, Customer Strategy and Engagement at Water Corporation said “We are very pleased the community connected so strongly to this campaign and proved, once again, they understand and appreciate the value of water and its importance in our drying climate. To have generated such a great outcome through this campaign is something we are all very proud of“.

Nick Bayes, General Manager at The Brand Agency added, “In my view the Effies are the ultimate recognition of the best work in our industry. We are very proud to have achieved this accolade by working in partnership with Water Corporation”.

The Effie Awards are presented to recognise the year’s most effective advertising and marketing communications campaigns which have delivered superior results in meeting the objectives they were designed to achieve.
